Part of the technical design used for new features in Reportlink 8.9.52 required adjustment in 8.9.55 in order to work properly. As a result, pivot and sheet reports created using Reportlink 8.9.52 will need to be manually adjusted in order to refresh using future versions of Reportlink. If you created your report templates on an earlier version of Reportlink (8.7.52 or earlier), your reports will refresh without issue when you upgrade to 8.9.55. The manual adjustment is only required for report templates created using 8.9.52.
Symptom:
When you upgrade to Reportlink 8.9.55 and refresh an existing template, you will receive an error that looks like the one below if the template was created using v8.9.52:
If you want to make this one-time correction on your own, instructions for correcting both pivot and sheet reports are included below.
If you prefer to have our support team correct your files, please send them to [email protected] with a request to update them for Reportlink 8.9.55. We will be happy to help!
INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANUALLY UPDATING YOUR PIVOT REPORTS:
-
Open your Excel
template and go to File-->Properties-->Advanced Properties (upper right
side of the Info screen). Click on the
Custom tab.
-
Each of your pivot
reports will have a Properties entry that looks something like this: jx:Time - Pivot {"Name":"Time -
Pivot","isPivot":true,"tabName":Time -
Pivot","LastAccessDate":"12:00:00 AM"}
-
Click on the pivot
report name that you want to fix in the Properties window.
-
In the Value
field, change the "Name":"Time - Pivot" to a valid feed or
report name*. In this case, the updated
value would look like this:
"Name":"time"
-
Click the Modify
button and go on to the next pivot report to be fixed or click OK to exit out
of Properties. Save the file.
INSTRUCTIONS FOR MANUALLY UPDATING YOUR SHEET REPORTS:
-
Open your Excel
template and go to File-->Properties-->Advanced Properties (upper right
side of the Info screen). Click on the
Custom tab.
-
Your sheet-based
reports will not have the required listing in the Properties window. You will need to create a custom property
entry for each of your sheet reports that looks something like this: jx:Time {"Name":"time","isPivot":false,"tabName":Time","LastAccessDate":"12:00:00
AM"} The name (e.g., jx:Time) and
the "tabName":":"Time" values should match the tab
name you see when viewing the sheet report in Excel. The "Name":"time" value
should be a valid feed or report name*.
-
Click the Add
button and go on to the next sheet report to be fixed or click OK to exit out
of Properties. Save the file. *Valid feed and report names: time, expense, travel, time_compliance,
expense_compliance, mileage_compliance, daily_compliance, rate, projectrollup,
scheduledprojects, assignments, resource_availability, actual_vs_projected,
standard_My_Report_Name, system_reportname, etc. You can also look these up in Reportlink by
clicking on the New button.
