Journyx JX/Journyx PX 13.1+: Updated May 29, 2024

This document describes the process for registering a Journyx JX application using the Journyx Production Azure® Enterprise app registration in order to grant access to Single Sign-On (SSO) or Exchange calendars and tasks for the Suggestions feature in Journyx. This process should be performed by a member of your IT staff whose has permissions to access your Microsoft Azure® portal.

This article only applies to Journyx JX version 13.1 or higher

If you are on version 13.0 or older, then please use this Journyx Azure SSO article to configure your environment.

Requirements

Before you begin, you need to gather the following information or requirements:

  1. A license key enabling SSO/Exchange Integration. Contact your Journyx Sales Representative.
  2. The Journyx JX site URL (example - https://test.apps.journyx.com)
  3. An administrative login on the Journyx server.
  4. For Azure SSO, users will be signed into the Journyx server through their organization account via Microsoft Azure Entra ID.
    1. Important: Use of SSO is optional, but if you are planning to use it, you must ensure that all of your Journyx user accounts have their Username (login ID) field set to the same Azure Entra ID Username (UPN) field as their accounts in your organization's Azure Portal. Often the Username (UPN) field is set to an email address but that is not required.
  5. Decide if you want to use the Journyx Suggestions feature. This allows entry screen users to import entries from Exchange Calendar events and Exchange Tasks.
    1. Important: Please note that this feature only works if the Exchange Server is in the cloud (as with Office 365), or it is in a hybrid cloud/local setup. It does not work with a purely local Exchange Server or Microsoft Outlook client software locally installed.

What to provide to Journyx Support

  1. Your organization's Azure Tenant ID
    1. Go to the top-level Microsoft Azure Dashboard. Find the Azure Active Directory link and select it. Then select Properties. Your tenant GUID will be labeled "Tenant ID". This will need to be provided to the Journyx Support Team
  2. Your organization's Azure Entra ID Authority Host URL
    1. To locate this go to Azure Portal > Microsoft Entra ID > App Registrations > Endpoints
  3. Once Journyx Support has the required information, they can add the required settings to your Journyx JX/PX site for Azure SSO and enable SSO

PLEASE NOTE - When first signing into the Journyx JX application with Azure SSO, it may be required to grant permissions to the Azure tenant. This is required in order to allow the Journyx JX/PX users to authenticate with your Azure tenant.

Granting Admin Consent must be completed by your Azure administrator by following the below instructions:

  1. Go to https://portal.azure.com
  2. Search for Enterprise Applications
  3. Within Enterprise Applications, search for "Journyx" and select the Journyx enterprise application
  4. On the left side, select Security > Permissions and then grant admin consent for your company
